Overview of the Radiology Department

If you've received an appointment letter from us and need to change or cancel your appointment, please use our online form to contact us:The Radiology Department at the Royal United Hospital (RUH) Bath, offers state-of-the-art multi-modality imaging to the local community. In addition to the main RUH Radiology Department there are seven Community Hospitals with X-ray facilities.
Each year the department performs over 260,000 imaging examinations in the areas of Plain Film Radiography, Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Interventional & Cardiac Radiology.
The Royal United Hospital also has a separate dedicated Nuclear Medicine Department on site.
All imaging modalities are digital and are linked electronically to reporting workstations. The department is linked nationally through its Picture Archive and Communications System (PACS).
Patients should be aware that RUH radiology images and reports may be shared on request with neighbouring healthcare organisations to provide a more integrated service and avoid unnecessary repeat examinations.
