NHS Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) & NHS Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES)

The Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) was introduced in April 2015, after engaging and consulting key stakeholders including other NHS organisations across England. It is included in the NHS standard contract each year.

Board Report

If you are a member of staff and are interested in becoming involved with the WDES or WRES action plan, you can take part in our Diversity and Inclusion steering committee (DISCo) or be part of our Equal Abilities or Fusion staff network. You can contact Gayle Williams, Equality and Diversity Officer directly to be added to the DISCo meetings.

NHS Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES)

The Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES) was introduced in April 2019, after engaging and consulting key stakeholders including other NHS organisations across England. It will be part of the NHS standard contract each year. NHS Trusts are required to produce and publish their WDES data and action plans each year.
