When you join our passionate team of midwives, you will be able to work across our consultant-led unit and two stand-alone birth centres, as well as in our two community midwife-led units, the antenatal and postnatal ward and maternity day assessment unit. We are also in the exciting planning stages for an 'alongside midwifery unit' that will be built on the RUH site.
Our Obstetric Unit Bath Birthing Centre has nine birthing rooms, two birthing pools and supports midwifery-led care. Our birthing rooms have low lighting, soft furnishings and can be tailored to individual family's requirements. The unit also has eight beds which support assessment and care of the critically ill and complex pregnancies, a dedicated maternity theatre, anaesthetic room, and a bereavement suite and Neonatal Unit is in close proximity.
Our antenatal and postnatal ward supports families with complex pregnancies, those requiring induction of labour and support in the postnatal period before transferring to community postnatal care. This area is also supported by our Neonatal team and houses families on a transitional care pathway.
