Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP)

This test is used to view, and treat problems with the bile ducts. An ERCP uses a narrow, flexible endoscope that has a camera on the end, to examine the bile ducts. The endoscope allows the treatment such as removing gallstones, relieving blockages that may be causing jaundice or infection, and taking samples to look for cancer.

An ERCP uses a narrow, flexible tube that has a camera on the end that is used to study the tissue of the pancreas. The tube, known as an endoscope, is guided into your digestive system using an ultrasound scanner.
