Dietetics
Paediatric Dietetic Services
Our Paediatric Dietitians work closely with other children's health professionals to provide specialist nutritional care for babies, children, and young people.
Inpatient Care
We support children on the Children's Ward and in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), ensuring they receive the right nutrition during their hospital stay.
Outpatient Clinics
Children registered with a GP in Bath and North East Somerset can access our community service through:
- Clinic appointments
- Telephone or video consultation
We also have specialist dietitian's outpatient clinics which are part of multi-disciplinary clinics for children. Clinics are held at the Royal United Hospital. Children may also be referred for a wide range of conditions by their paediatrician.
Paediatric Diabetes
Our dedicated Paediatric Diabetes Dietitians work exclusively within the diabetes service, alongside specialist nurses and paediatricians. We support children and families from diagnosis through ongoing management, offering:
- Ward-based care
- Community clinics
- Educational sessions to help families manage this long-term condition
