Types of Kidney Cancer

About 90% of kidney cancers are called renal cell cancers.  These tumours are divided up into different types according to how they look under a microscope.

The other main type of kidney cancer is called transitional cell carcinoma which affects the lining of the kidney and can also occur in the ureter (the pipe linking the kidney and the bladder) or the bladder.
