Join us for family friendly activities, while learning more about life at your local acute hospital. You'll also be able to grab food and treats around the site.
You will be able to:

- Find out about how we're improving the hospital for you, and give us your feedback
- Enjoy activities and games, suitable for all the family – including a trail around the site and drop-in art activities
- Find out about careers in the NHS
- See how you can support the hospital, from volunteering and fundraising for RUHX to becoming a member
- Enjoy children's activities and games
- Grab a bite to eat from our catering outlets (additional cost involved)

Family fun and healthcare
Many of the stands will have fun games and activities that those of all ages can enjoyhere’s some of the stands that are aimed at young families and those who look after children
- *New for 2025* Future NHS workers – Do you know a young person who might like to work in healthcare? Come and find out more about the roles they could do and enjoy some activities too. Everyone welcome, but particularly of interest to children aged 6 – 15
- *New for 2025* Breastfeeding support – Come meet our friendly team for advice and support, as well as lots of fun and games
- Paediatric healthcare – Do you have a question for a paediatric nurse? And what should be in your family’s first aid kit? Come and meet the team to find out about caring for your family, and how to do so at home

Specialist advice and support
Would you or someone you know benefit from some specialist support? Find out more about the teams and resources available at the RUH for people living with dementia, people considered vulnerable, mental health support and those experiencing health inequalities.There will also be lots of hands-on activities, including dementia-friendly computer games and water colouring.
Behind the scenes…
Most people will meet our amazing frontline staff when they come to the RUH. But what else are we working on behind the scenes..?- Research – The RUH is a research-active hospital, but what does this mean and why is it important and beneficial to our patients, staff and community?
- Strategy and Engagement – What are our priorities and plans for the future?
- Sustainability – How are we making the RUH a greener and how will this benefit our patients, staff and wider community
- Estates – How are we improving our hospital infrastructure for all those who use it?
Activities
- Create a sculpture – Join our Art at the Heart team for drop-in art workshops, suitable for all ages and abilities
- Live music – Enjoy performances from Musician-in-Residence Frankie Simpkins in the Atrium throughout the day
- Dyson Cancer Centre tours – See areas of the Dyson Cancer Centre with a guided tour
- Trail – We challenge you to visit all the stands on the trail!
- Outdoor swimming pool – Our outdoor pool will be open for lane-free and lane swimming sessions on the day. An additional charge is involved, and advance booking via the Bookwhen website is essential.

- Volunteering – Find out more about volunteering opportunities at the RUH (and meet our friendly Pets as Therapy (PAT) dogs!
- Fundraising – From glow runs to the Walk of Life, RUHX will be sharing more about how you can get involved in raising money for the hospital charity. There will also be charity cake and craft stands on the day
