Health Information Group (HIG)
Overview of the HIG
About the HIG
The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust is launching a brand new way of creating a wide range of patient information. It's called the Health Information Group (HIG) and the Trust would like the members to be patients, visitors and the wider community, as well as members of staff.
The aim of the HIG is to become the main source of comment, suggestion and debate for the hospital about our patient and health information.
As an acute hospital trust, we produce all sorts of information from leaflets to signs, website to video.
Over the past year, we have made significant progress in a number of areas which we believe demonstrates our commitment to make quality this hospital's priority and embed high standards in all we do.
One of our key objectives in relation to improving the quality of care we offer at the RUH is improving our communication with our patients and visitors – be it written, face to face, electronic or telephone.
It is important that we make sure we include the views of patients, visitors, staff and interested members of the community in decisions about communication. Therefore we would like to establish a panel of people who can give us their views and help shape the improvements we want to make in how and what we communicate with our patients and visitors.
