The RUH currently allows staff who car share to register more than one vehicle on a car parking permit.

This allows car sharers to save money by only purchasing one permit between the car sharing group and access the dedicated car sharing car park, outside the front of the Bath & Wessex building.

We have launched the opportunity to lease a brand new ultra low emissions vehicle (ULEV) or electric vehicle (EV) via salary sacrifice.

This is a cost-effective way in which staff can travel in comfort and style while contributing to the reduction in carbon emissions from commuting. On average the daily commute by car is the second highest emitter of carbon from vehicles in the UK contributing 170.5 grams of CO2 per kilometre.

Electric vehicles produce zero tailpipe emissions which has a significant benefit to air quality and public health, making everyone's environment cleaner.

• You must be a permanent RUH employee
• Payment to be via salary sacrifice
• One car per employee at one time
• Subject to insurance stipulations
• The payments must not take your basic salary below minimum wage. When you register please provide your actual salary – not full-time equivalent if you work part time – and you will only be shown vehicles that you should be approved for

There are plenty of excellent cycle routes serving the site! In particular, the two major routes: The Bristol to Bath Railway Path (4) from the west and the Two Tunnels Greenway (244) from the south - please take a look at these maps for cycle routes which have been produced by Better By Bike.

Live Onsite Cycling Facilities

We have locked cycle storage as well as changing, shower and locker facilities for you to freshen up. These facilities can be accessed with your generic access swipe card and can be found on the Trust's cycling facilities map.

There are new Dott bikes and scooters across RUH, Bath and Bristol. There are various discounts and cost incentives that have been rolled out to help encourage sustainable travel at a more reasonable price:

The Trust has access to a Toyota Yaris Hybrid car, on site, for all hospital staff to use for any work-related travel via the Enterprise Car Club's car sharing scheme.

The pool cars are located at the front of the Supplies Department (E9).
