DMWS can support with:

  • Information, advice and guidance
providing a single point of contact, giving emotional and practical support
  • A tailored service
offering a person-centred service, focusing on what the individual and their loved ones need
  • Access to support
including mental health, relationship issues, substance misuse and wellbeing support
  • Supported referrals
referrals, such as education and training, housing, employment, finance and early years

This helps us to offer the best possible support for the people we care for and their loved ones. It can also help avoid delayed discharges and re-attendances at the Emergency Department.

Who is this for?

The United Kingdom Armed Forces are the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, British Army and Royal Air Force. The communities include existing personnel and reservists, cadets, veterans, families and carers.

There is no minimum length of service which makes someone a veteran, it can be just one day.

This service can support patients, including outpatients. Staff can also access support.
