Referral Guidelines
Bone mineral densitometry service
Direct access bone mineral density referrals may be placed by local GPs using the ICE system, or by letter if this is unavailable. Alternatively, should a patient require a more in-depth consultation, please refer to the RNHRD Osteoporosis Clinic.
Specialist imaging and measurement services
Consultants wishing to refer patients for thermal imaging or capillaroscopy should send a letter to Clinical Scientist, Clinical Measurement Department, Royal United Hospital Bath, Combe Park, Bath, BA1 3NG or an appropriately secured e-mail to ruh-tr.rnhrdcmreferrals@nhs.net
Consultants wishing to refer patients for compartmental pressure studies to investigate chronic exertional compartment syndrome should refer to Mr Tristan Barton, Zone B34, Department Orthopaedics, Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, Combe Park, Bath, BA1 3NG.
