Patients & Visitors

Thrombosis

What we do

We review patients who have suffered from a blood clot with no clear cause at 3 months to ensure patients have the correct ongoing management of their blood clot. This is done via a telephone, the Thrombosis Clinic is on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

We review patients with cancer who have had a thrombosis in our cancer associated thrombosis (CAT) clinic. This is on a Tuesday.

Both of our clinics are managed by the whole team and all patients are discussed at length with all of the team. We also gather information from other departments if it helps us to make the correct decisions.

Our main mission is to raise awareness of developing clots whilst staying in hospital and how we can prevent that from happening.
