Getting Involved

Setting our Priorities for the year ahead

As a local district acute hospital, we are about to set our priorities for the year ahead – April 2010 till March 2011. We are committed to ensuring we provide the best possible patient care within the resources we have available. We also value the opinions of our patients and visitors and would therefore like to have your views on what we believe our 4 priority Objectives should be and/or how best we can deliver them to your benefit.

In 2010/11 the Trust will be focused on the following:

Improving the quality of the care we offer by:
  1. keeping our patients safe and reducing any potential risk for harm through a number of practices and guidelines under our ‘Safety Matters’ initiative.
  2. improving the experience of all our patients through improved communication, engagement and involvement of patients and carers
  3. delivering care in a timely fashion and reducing the length of time that our patients are required to stay in hospital in order to get people back to their ‘normal living’ without delay

Improving the ways in which we help our staff to maintain or improve their overall health and well-being

Making sure the cost of care represents value for money, by not only reducing waste but by making sure your care is delivered in the most appropriate way and by the most appropriate person or service.

Working with local health and social care organisations to make sure we are delivering good care for patients without duplication or gaps and that money spent on healthcare locally represents good value to you as a patient.
