Guardian Information

All Doctors are able to complete exception reports when their work varies from that set out in their rotas and/or work schedules and eligible for reimbursement as set out in the 2016 contract terms and conditions of service.

Exception reporting is overseen by the Guardian of Safe Working (for safety and hours) and the Director of Medical Education (for educational exception reports).

The Guardian of Safe Working at RUH is Ms Selina Tomlinson. Her aim is to ensure that we have resident doctor rotas that are compliant and populated, to review exception reports and the issues they identify, and to work with resident doctors, Educational Supervisors, Clinical Supervisors and rota managers to address any serious issues or risks to safety.

Resident Doctors Contract Forum

Why not join our Resident Doctors Forum? The Forum meet quarterly and all doctors in training and Trust Doctors are welcome to come along with ideas and suggestions with a view to developing and improving services, working conditions and education and training. We would like representation from as many doctors as possible.

If you are interested, please contact Medical Staffing at ruh-tr.MedicalHR@nhs.net who will send you the dates for your diaries.
