Jargon Buster

This is the Electronic Staff Record. It is a web-based system used by 1.4 million staff in the NHS. It is the primary data source for all our personal data, manages our pay and is the gateway to our training. The development of self-service portals (employee and manager/supervisor) means that all of us can now use ESR to see and manage our own and our teams' information, and see our payslips and our pension and rewards statements.

This is the first screen you see when you log in to ESR (also known as the dashboard).

These are the individual boxes that make up the Portal dashboard. They enable you navigate quickly to where you need to go.

This is your ESR. It is where you can view and update your own personal information confidentially, see your payslip, pension and reward statement and access your eLearning and book other training. Click here to find out more.
