Plain Film – GP referrals
Plain film examinations are currently by appointment only
8.15am – 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.
Fluoroscopy
All fluoroscopy procedures are booked via appointment only. There are two fluoroscopic imaging rooms able to undertake these examinations.
The Radiology department currently has 3 CT scanners and 3 MRI scanners.
We operate a routine outpatient service Monday-Friday with additional outpatient scanning undertaken most weekends. An on-call CT and MRI service is operated out of hours.
Ultrasound
There are two Ultrasound departments located within the Royal United Hospital, Bath. The General Ultrasound department is situated within the main Radiology Department and a second site within the Princess Anne Wing of the hospital. Both are open from 9am-5pm on weekdays (excluding Bank Holidays), on an appointment only basis. A limited inpatient ultrasound service is also available at the weekend in the main Radiology Department only.
Over the two sites there are a total of seven Ultrasound rooms able to perform a wide range of examinations including: abdominal, pelvic, small part, vascular, paediatric, musculoskeletal and gynaecological Ultrasound.
Ultrasound performed on the Princess Anne Wing site is predominantly Obstetric and Gynaecological.
