About us

We provide anaesthesia, perioperative assessment, pain management and intensive care services for our population.

Many of our consultants also work at Sulis Hospital Bath, supporting both NHS and independent sector care.

We deliver the full breadth of emergency and elective care. What makes RUH Anaesthesia distinctive is that alongside high-volume frontline clinical delivery, our department has an international reputation for innovation and research. Our work influences anaesthetic practice well beyond Bath.

• Around 50 resident doctors (core, specialty and fellows)
• On-call tiers, with dedicated consultant cover for theatres/obstetrics and a skilled team of on-call resident doctors covering theatres, obstetrics and critical care.
• Anaesthesia Clinical Services Accreditation (ACSA) Accreditation
