Referral Guidelines
Our clinic has recently undergone major reconfiguration of services in line with the latest evidence from NICE on the management of chronic and persistent pain problems and the commissioning requirements of local Integrated Care Board (ICBs).
The service is provided by a team of Nurses, Consultant Anaesthetists, Clinical Psychologists and Physiotherapists. There are different evidence based intervention including physiotherapy, medication optimisation, medical interventions, psychological support and a pain management programme.
All new referrals are assessed initially by a Consultant Anaesthetist and an appropriate intervention is then agreed. The Pain Clinic is run from the Royal United Hospital.
