The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust (RUH) is inviting people who are looking for a role that truly makes a difference to discover the wide range of opportunities on offer.

The hospital's 2026 recruitment campaign – "Start Your Story at the RUH" – which features on social media shares inspiring stories from staff who joined the Trust within the past year. They share why they chose to work for the RUH, how their roles make a real difference, and the rewarding experiences they've had since joining.

Vanessa Watson, Switchboard Operator

Taking part in the campaign is Vanessa Watson, a Switchboard Operator. She said: "Last year I decided that I wanted to work in a public-facing role where I could use my skills to help people. I feel that our role in switchboard is vital especially considering the age of many callers and I make it my absolute mission to help people."

Liz Echem, Cleaning Manager

Liz Echem, Cleaning Manager, who also features in the campaign, said: "I wanted a change of scene in 2025 and was looking for a job where I would be part of a supportive, friendly team and that has direct impact on making a positive experience for others – and I've found this here at the RUH.

"I was drawn to the RUH because its values, they truly resonate with me - especially 'Everyone Matters'. That value told me I'd always feel included and part of something that makes a real difference to others."

The RUH has a wide range of job opportunities available, from receptionists to research nurses, porters to physiotherapists, cleaners to consultants, offering full and part time hours, as well as flexible working options, depending on the type of role.

Janine Jones, Head of Talent Acquisition, said: "If you're looking for a career change, a fresh start or a role to open up new opportunities, now is the time to become part of our valued teams, who are at the very heart of our hospital.

"As people start thinking about their New Year's resolutions and what they want to achieve in 2026, this is the perfect opportunity to take that step towards having a rewarding career that truly makes a difference.

"If you have the skills we need and share our values – everyone matters, working together, making a difference – apply now to join the RUH."
