RUH farewell and thank you to military personnel

The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust has said thank you and goodbye to military personnel who've been supporting staff for the past month.

The military men and women provided invaluable help with the RUH's response to the second wave of the pandemic, carrying our general duties on wards and units.

RUH Chief Executive Cara Charles-Barks, who was presented with a commemorative emblem, said the military assistance had been invaluable for staff, allowing them to focus on their vital role of caring for patients.

She said: "Our staff have been working so hard for many months and having you join us has been an enormous boost to morale. From all of us, we are incredibly grateful – thank you."

Lieutenant Harry Martin, 29 Commando Unit Royal Artillery, said: "Working here with NHS colleagues is something that we will take with us for the rest of our lives. It's been such a positive and amazing experience."

The military teams were also presented with a signed medical scrubs shirt and a thank you video and book of personal messages from staff across the hospital.
