RUH welcomes government funding

The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust has welcomed the announcement that it is to receive Government funding to plan for future building projects.

Trust Chief Executive James Scott said: "We are delighted to have been chosen as one of 21 trusts to receive Health Infrastructure Plan 2 seed funding to put together a long-term plan for building and refurbishment projects at the RUH."

"Being part of this programme allows us to continue to look forward with our ambition to radically transform aging facilities and support our amazing teams in the provision of highest quality services."

"We'll be working up plans over the next 18 months. The first step is for us to work with our clinicians, stakeholders and patients on proposals to create a hospital that will guarantee a positive patient and staff experience into the future, with use of low carbon design, digital technology and sustainable travel at its core."

"We remain committed to redeveloping the RUH with the continued help of our hospital charity, The Forever Friends Appeal, and our many supporters and fundraisers."
