Introducing the new public governors for the RUH

It’s time to introduce the new Public Governors for the Royal United Hospital, Bath.

The Trust is delighted to announce the following candidates have been voted by its members to be the Governors for the following constituencies:

  • Mike Midgley, City of Bath
  • Nick Houlton, North East Somerset
  • Anne Martin, Mendip
  • Chris Callow, North Wiltshire
  • James Colquhoun, South Wiltshire

In total, 16 candidates put themselves forward for the role of Public Governor and members had the opportunity to make their vote by post or online.

Trust Chairman, Brian Stables said:

“We are delighted to welcome our new Governors who will start their three year term on Tuesday 1 November.  I am looking forward to working with them as it is really important that our members have a voice and our Governors will be able help us improve the Trust’s services for both patients and staff.

“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who nominated themselves and express my thanks to the Governors who have now finished their terms and left us, as they did a tremendous job.”

The newly elected candidates will now go on to represent the Trust’s 15,900 members on the Council of Governors. Trust members will have the opportunity to meet the new Governors at future constituency meetings and local events, and the candidates will feature in in the winter edition of the Trust’s Insight magazine which will be issued in December.
