  • Chemotherapy (intra-venous, Oncology / Haematology in Chemotherapy Suite or William Budd Day Unit)
  • Radiotherapy
  • Intensive Lymphedema (requiring attendance on 5 consecutive days)
  • Blood platelet
  • Immunoglobulin
  • Iron Infusions
  • Ritixum treatment
  • Palliative Care

(all subject to confirmation and cost codes for cross charging from their departments)

The following do not qualify for concessionary parking

  • Oncology out patients appointments
  • Oral Chemotherapy
  • Clinical Imaging and Measurement
  • Blood Tests

One-Shot concessions provide a single use parking concession in the public car park.

One-Shot parking concessions are charged at £1 each to the department issuing or issued on behalf of when used for concessionary patient parking rates under the Hospital Parking guidance.

Where departments do not hold One-Shot Parking Concessions themselves, they may refer the Patient to the Main Reception Desk, where a One-Shot Parking Concession can be issued on their behalf, chargeable to the authorising department. In these cases, the patients may buy a maximum of 5 One-Shot Parking Concessions in advance, (at £1 each) on demonstration of 5 qualifying appointment dates.

One-Shot concessions are only to be issued to patients and not used by staff or contractors, as it is a disciplinary breach of Trust Policy for staff to use Public Parking without written approval from the Estates & Facilities Directorate (Car Parking Department). Such approval will only be considered on health or Occupational Health grounds and in exceptional circumstances, as provision is already made for staff with mobility and other issues within the existing Staff Car parking areas.

Extra Concessions For Long Stays

For those whose relative is in for a long term stay (more than 4 weeks), a 50% rebate is available on the 7-day tickets covering a period of 4 or more weeks.

So on production of 7-day tickets or receipts covering a period of 4+weeks, a 50% rebate is refundable.

Further rebates

In addition to the concessionary discounted rates available for 7-day tickets, the Royal United Hospital recognises the financial pressure having a relative in hospital or a course of treatment for a long term can pose. For those having to attend or visit the hospital for periods of 4 or more weeks, a further concessionary rebate is available to assist with the cost of parking.

A rebate of 50% the parking fees paid for 7-day tickets covering periods of 4 weeks or more is available from Reception on production of receipts.

This will be refunded for either

  • your entire stay over 4 weeks or
  • in blocks of 4-weeks

This is only valid for £15 (7-day) tickets and with receipts covering a period of at least 4 weeks from start to finish.

Original receipts must be obtained and presented for the refund:
These will be retained. In all cases, the rebate is at the discretion of the hospital.

Rebates are claimable from the Main Reception Desk in the Atrium:
Monday-Friday 08:00 to 20:00

Partial blocks cannot be refunded, so please ensure that you have a full 4 weeks before applying for a refund. For example, if the stay is 6 weeks, please wait until the 6 weeks is up before applying for the refund, if you do this at 4 weeks, the 4 weeks will be refunded, but if you then only have a further 2 weeks of receipts, these will not be eligible for refund. Whereas if you collate all 6 weeks of receipts and submit at once these would receive the full rebate refund.
