About Paget's disease

Paget's disease is a condition affecting the skeleton's normal repair and renewal process. Symptoms can include pain, changes in the shape of bones and sometimes fractures. However not all patients have symptoms, and the diagnosis is sometimes made on the basis of an abnormal blood test, or changes seen on an x-ray or scan done for another reason.

Either single or multiple bones can be affected, with the pelvis, spine, leg bones and skull being common sites.
