About us

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) Rehabilitation Service and the Complex Cancer Late Effects Rehabilitation Service (CCLERS)

We are a national specialist service, offering intensive rehabiltation for adults who are living with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome or the late effects of cancer treatment.

These conditions can lead to persistent pain and reduced physical function. Our aim is to help you to improve your function and quality of life, as well as supporting you to self-manage your condition in the long-term.

What we offer

We are one of the few sites in the UK dedicated to the treatment of CRPS and Complex Cancer Late Effects, providing outpatient and inpatient care.

If you are referred to us and meet the criteria relevant to your condition, we will first see you as an outpatient. These appointments cover diagnosis, a discussion of the most appropriate options for you and any initial recommendations.

If appropriate, we will then invite you to our two week inpatient rehabilitation programme. The programme includes specialist physiotherapy (including hydrotherapy), occupational therapy, psychology and education. It is mainly group-based, but you will also work regularly with our therapists on an individual basis. This will help you towards achieving agreed goals and allows us to individually tailor the treatment to your needs.

After your two week stay with us, you will be offered options for follow-up, resources and recommendations for ongoing support.
