Dr Farnaz Parvizi, BDS, FDS RCS, MPhil, M Orth RCS, FDS Orth is one of the Consultant Orthodontists in the department. She started her orthodontic career in specialist practice in the UK and Australia. In addition to her clinical commitments at RUH, she also teaches and supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate students at Bath and the University of Bristol. She is both a clinical and educational supervisor to post graduate students. Farnaz is an examiner for the final BDS degree at the University of Bristol. She is currently undertaking a Master's degree in Teaching and Education

Professor Tony Ireland PhD, MSc, BDS, FDS, M.Orth RCS (Eng) is also a Consultant Orthodontist. He is also part-time Professor and honorary consultant at Bristol Dental School where he is the Training Programme Director for the DDS/M.Orth programme. As well as treating patients at the RUH in Bath, he teaches both undergraduate dental students and postgraduate orthodontic students at Bath and Bristol. He has written over 120 articles in scientific journals and has co-authored two orthodontic textbooks. Like Farnaz, he is an examiner for the final BDS degree at Bristol University and also examines for the Membership in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

Mr Andrew Felstead MBChB(Hons) BDS MFDSRCS FRCSEd(OMFS)
Andrew obtained undergraduate degrees in dentistry and medicine from the Universities of Birmingham and Bristol respectively. He went on to complete training in surgery in general with posts in trauma and orthopaedics, general and neurosurgery leading to the MRCSEd examination. He then returned to his parent speciality for a 5 year specialist training programme in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the South West of England gaining the FRCSEd(OMFS) examination. He is an honorary clinical tutor in head and neck anatomy for the Severn Deanery School of surgery and has a number of publications in peer reviewed journals.
