Keep norovirus out of your hospital

If you are planning to come and visit a patient and you have had symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting (D&V) in the past 3 days then please do not come. The diahorrea and vomiting bug, Norovirus, is extremely infectious so please do not visit the hospital for at least 3 days after you have recovered and are free from all symptoms.

If the infection is brought into the hospital it can put vulnerable patients at risk and lead to wards being closed to new admissions and it can also mean a delay in otherwise healthy patients being discharged.

If you have an outpatients appointment and are suffering with symptoms of D&V, please telephone the department where you have your appointment and notify them as soon as possible so that a new date can be arranged for you.

Whenever you visit our hospital, always use the gel to clean your hands on entry to and exit from our wards and clinics.

Thank you.
