Clinical Application
Assessment of pancreatic exocrine function.

Limitations
High water content of the stool sample may lead to an underestimation of the faecal pancreatic elastase concentration. If result <200ug/g on a sample reported as “liquid”, please repeat test on a formed sample.

In samples containing pancreatin (Creon), results may be falsely elevated by approximately 20%, please take this into account when interpreting results in patients on enzyme replacement.
