For once daily Gentamicin therapy, level should be ≤1.0mg/L.

If patient is prescribed Gentamicin for endocarditis therapy please discuss levels with the microbiologist. Please note, it is the responsibility of the prescriber to check antibiotic levels as per assay guidelines on the intranet and adjust dose/timing as necessary. For clinical inquiries about interpretation or dosing please contact Medical Microbiologist for advice

Drug interferences: Netilmicin and Sisomicin cross react with the assay, which could cause over estimation of gentamicin concentration in patients taking these drugs
