Clinical Application
To investigate carnitine transporter defects, carnitine deficiency or monitoring carnitine replacement.
May be useful in investigation of suspected mitochondrial disorders causing neurological or muscle disease.
Please note this investigation does not cover the entire acylcarnitine profile and therefore can not exclude a fatty acid oxidation disorder.
