Department: Biochemistry

Clinical Application
This is a qualitative test. The report produced will indicate the origin of elevated ALP, e.g. liver, bone, intestinal ALP etc.

ALP isoenzymes analysis is typically only useful where serum ALP is ≥200IU/L due to the qualitative nature of the test. Analysis may be useful where ALP is persistently ≥200IU/L, with a normal GGT and replete vitamin D and the cause/origin of raised ALP is unclear.
