Search for a Hospital Hero

Do you know of someone who is a 'Hospital Hero'? Someone who has gone above and beyond the call of duty or made you, a friend or a relative feel especially well cared for whilst at the hospital?

The Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust wants to find that special member of staff and make them our Hospital Hero for 2009. They may be a nurse, doctor, one of our volunteers, or one of our many support staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our services run smoothly.

This is the first time the Trust has given members of the public a chance to honour one of our staff members and as we receive dozens of thank you letters and cards each week, we know that people across North Somerset, Wiltshire and beyond are grateful and impressed by the treatment and care they receive at the RUH.

But we need their help to find our Hero. Lynn Vaughan, the Trust's Director of Human Resources says, “We know that many of our staff do go over and above what is actually required of them to make a patient or relative feel looked after or supported in some way. We would like the help of our patients and visitors to make this Award a success. So if you know of someone you think deserves to be recognised for what they have done, please do nominate them.”

The winner will be presented with their prize at the Trust's annual awards night at the end of January and the person nominating them will also receive a prize in recognition of their efforts.

If you know someone who you think deserves to be recognised for the work they do, the effort they make or the care they gave, either go on line to www.ruh.nhs.uk or collect a form from our Main Reception desk
