The Hand Unit
The Hand Unit provides highly specialised assessment and treatment of hand conditions.
The Hand Team treat both acute and chronic conditions which range from acute orthopaedic fractures and emergency plastic operations to elective conditions such as Dupuytren's and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Led by a Clinical Specialist in Hand Therapy the team utilises specialist assessment, splinting skills, sensory and functional rehabilitation, exercise, ultrasound and compression garments to aid patient recovery.
We are also involved in district teaching and providing advice for outlying practices, units and therapists in the South West Region and to whom we refer.
