Warfarin Clinic

E13

Overview

The haematology department runs a number of one stop Warfarin clinics, for testing and dosing of patients. These are run in Bath and the surrounding villages for a number of GP surgeries. Appointment times are five minutes in length and made either from weekly or up to 12 weeks depending on the stability of the warfarin testing. Results are produced as an International Normalised Ratio (INR).

These clinics are accredited by the laboratories accreditation scheme, with the highest level of quality, by suitably qualified staff under the auspices of a consultant haematologist. The clinic comply with all of the National Patients Safety Authority regulations made on their report on warfarin anticoagulation, NPSA/2007/18.
