Special instructions
Due to invasive nature of the investigation, should only be performed by a member of the haematology team and when there is a clear clinical indication. This MUST be approved by a clinical haematologist.

Immunophenotyping, Cytogenetics and Trephine samples are sent to Southmead for analysis. For cytogenetics medium, please contact Southmead Immunology Department.

Aspirate morphology performed at the RUH.

Urgent samples are to be couriered to Southmead on instruction of the haematology medical staff.
