The Forever Friends Appeal - RUH Charity

About the Appeal  |  Our Major Campaign  |  Past Campaigns  |  Contact us

The Forever Friends Appeal is the fundraising charity for the Royal United Hospitals, Bath. We work with the wards and departments of the RUH to fundraise for major Campaigns and state-of-the-art medical equipment and facilities, over and above that provided by the NHS.

They couldn’t do this without the thousands of supporters who raise funds though fundraising, taking part in events, making donations, or simply donating their time and volunteering.

If you would like to fundraise or make a donation to a ward or department please contact The Forever Friends Appeal (details below), visit their web site or send your donation with a letter indicating if you wish the donation to be designated to a particular area, or for General use and the Appeal will liaise with the ward / department.

Our Major Campaigns

Dyson Cancer Centre

Thanks to the help of dedicated supporters, major donors and the goodwill of the public, the minimum £8.5million fundraising target needed for the pioneering new RUH Cancer Centre has been reached.

But, we're not stopping our fundraising efforts as many of our donors are very much encouraging us to sustain the campaign into 2018 to maximise our fundraising efforts for the new Centre to ensure it is truly special in its design, facilities and equipment.

We aim to build a Centre where every brick is therapeutic, where clinical excellence can be provided with a holistic approach that delivers a uniquely beneficial healing environment with improved outcomes, an exceptional patient experience and a strong focus on long-term survivorship.

The new Cancer Centre will be prominently located on the site of what is currently the 1940's 'RUH North'. Its construction will be logistically complex with services continuing either in situ or temporarily relocated.

Consultant architects Nightingale Associates have helped develop a phased Estates Development Strategy which includes the sequential demolition of RUH North and the construction of the new Centre by 2019/20.

The Appeal will be working in partnership with the RUH to secure the funding for the new centre. For all the information about the Campaign and how you can help please visit the Appeal website.

The RNHRD & Therapies Centre

Raising £2m towards the unique RNHRD & Therapies Centre at the Royal United Hospitals Bath (RUH)

The vision for the new Centre is to create a nurturing environment with dedicated facilities for rheumatology, therapies and pain management services.

The new building will include a large hydrotherapy pool, specialist gym and rehabilitation equipment, and a biologics treatment space.

The new RNHRD & Therapies Centre will be one of the first buildings visible to everyone on arrival at the hospital, alongside the main hospital entrance and, in due course, the new Dyson Cancer Centre.

The latest designs also includes landscaping proposals to create a welcoming space at the front of the hospital, connecting the two new keynote buildings with our existing main entrance, and setting the hospital entrance into the context of its surroundings in the World Heritage City of Bath.

Benefactors Andrew and Christina Brownsword have pledged to match every pound donated - up to £1m, inviting the public to help the Appeal achieve its fundraising target.

To reach the £2 million, the Appeal has launched 'Therapies Matter', a campaign that features people of all ages and backgrounds who have received therapy to aid their recovery, or for some to learn how to manage their long-term condition.
