Project Overview

IN SCOPE: Surgical elective procedures currently treated with overnight stay Minor non-elective procedures identified as suitable for day case treatment

OUT OF SCOPE: Medical elective day case to be addressed in a separate project (Project Lead James Stevenson)

Key Objectives

  1. To achieve upper quartile performance in line with 188 BADS (British Association of Day Surgery) Day case / 23 hour procedures
  2. To increase the number of surgical patients treated as a Surgical Day case
  3. To increase Best Practice Tariff for Day Case procedures
