Patient Benefits

Patients assessed, admitted and treated in a fast track pathway minimising LOS and risks associated with that. Inpatients will have the risk of being cancelled on the theatre 1 list significantly reduced, again reducing LOS and increasing speed of post op recovery. Patients seen in the emergency clinic will have a senior review and decision made as to their management- sent home and listed for next day, or admitted for theatre that afternoon. Both reducing length of stay.

Trust Benefits

Trust Benefits: Reduced Length Of Stay, improved patient flow through the hospital, reduction in cancelled operations, better theatre utilisation, reduction in number of patient complaints, reduction in unplanned readmissions.
