About the Ward

Charlotte ward is an all-female ward. We specialise in emergency gynaecology. We also care for a range of emergency surgical, urology and orthopaedic patients.

Ward Layout

We have 22 beds, made up of four, four-bedded bays and 6 side rooms. The side rooms are used for specialist care and are allocated according to clinical priority.

Meals and Drinks

There is a choice of menu and we also cater for special dietary needs. Mealtimes are approximately as follows:

We serve hot drinks with meals and also mid-morning, mid-afternoon and in the evening. Snack menus are also available. There is a limited amount of space in the fridge available for patient's own fresh food. This must be supplied in a clean, rigid container. The kitchen is strictly a staff only area but staff are happy to assist.

Personal Belongings

To help keep you comfortable during your stay please bring with you toiletries, nightwear and slippers. We also like to encourage all our patients where possible to dress during the day. We can supply a limit number of emergency wash items if you are admitted to hospital unexpectedly, so please arrange for toiletries to be brought in from home where possible.

Patients are encouraged not to bring valuables into hospital. Please note there are no clothes washing facilities on the ward.

We would very much like you to enjoy your stay with us and request that if you have any questions, please speak with the Nurse-in-Charge. Your thoughts are appreciated and feedback forms are available on the ward to complete.
