Overview
How to make a surgical and urology referral for children and adults
To provide a quicker referral process, GPs need to refer patients via a mobile telephone (07909 532251) which will be carried at all times by a member of the admitting team. All surgical and urology patients need to be discussed with the on-call team as this means the patient is expected by the appropriate team.
Whilst referring a patient it is important to provide the following information:
- Name
- Age with DOB
- Presenting complaint / clinical details
- Relevant PMH
- If the patient is clinically stable or not
In the unlikely event of not being able to get hold of a member of the on call team via the mobile telephone please get switchboard (01225 428331) to bleep the F1 Doctor on cover on 7858 or the F2 doctor on 7774.
