Bereavement Service - Patient Affairs Team

The Bereavement Service is provided for the family and friends of patients who have died at the Royal United Hospital. The service is run by the Patient Affairs Team.

In addition to issuing the medical certificate of cause of death and advising on the process of registering a death, this department is able to provide information and resources for you. Each family is given the opportunity to discuss any immediate problems they may have.

What to do first?

Telephone the Patient Affairs team who can be contacted on:

The department is situated in the north of the hospital and staff will provide directions for you.

In order to prevent unnecessary journeys we do ask that you do not attend the department without a prior appointment being made by the Patient Affairs team as circumstances sometimes mean that all the necessary paperwork will not be available that day.
